This Upper Navigation light  once belonged to the 51st Fighter Interceptor Wing at Naha Air Force Base on Okinawa.  It was acquired by my father from surplus stock when the Wing inactivated on May 31, 1971.

This auction includes the fully functioning navigation light, a metal housing with switch and electric relay wired to the light, and a separate 110Volt AC to 24 Volt DC power supply.

When the toggle switch is thrown,  the top white position light illuminates, and the recessed beacon elevates out of the lower housing.  When the beacon is fully deployed, a bright/dim rotation is started.  As the F-102 reaches supersonic speed, the navigation beacon and position light are extinguished and retract back into the lower housing.
This is the internal wiring of the switch box.  All wires from the navigation light are clearly labeled.  The schematic for the light is printed on the inside of the bottom cover of the light's lower housing.  Clicking on the picture to the left will show a more detailed view.
This is the 24 volt DC power supply that is included with the auction.  The positive and negative output terminals are clearly labeled.  Power input is 110 volt AC. Power output is 24 volt DC at 130 watts continuous.  Clicking on the picture to the left will show a more detailed view.
This is the US Air Force nomenclature and part number sticker attached to the lower housing of the light.
This is the Grimes Manufacturing Company's contract number sticker. It lists all voltages and current associated with the position and navigation lights.  It also lists manufacturer and customer contract, stock and part numbers.  Clicking on the picture to the left will show a more detailed view.
