We all remember sitting around the break room in the '70s flipping through the Broadcast Engineering magazines lusting after the awesome Grass 300... We thought of how easy our lives would be with E-Mem and that way-cool "Auto Trans" button...

We were geeks.

We even pictured what our office would look like when we were promoted to Production Manager. It was gonna have a refrigerator, and a classic little Grass Valley switcher with buttons that lit up.

This is everything you want, except the refrigerator.

Go ahead...  you know you want to do it...
Just roll your mouse over the switcher above
and see what she looks like all lit up.
This is the back of the unit.  It runs off regular 110 volt household current which powers a 12 volt, 13.5 amp power supply.  A dimmer is in the circuit to control the intensity of the lamps.

(The chicks dig the mood-lighting effect)

The rack sides are made from 3/4" solid oak with a Golden Oak stain and Polyurethane finish.  The rack top is 1/4" oak, and the power supply base is particleboard  The power supply is elevated to allow airflow.   This switcher can easily be removed from the rack with 4 screws.  Included in the auction are ten spare "387" lamps for the source buttons, and five spare "7382" lamps for the wipe selection buttons.
This switcher was purchased several years ago on eBay.  I took it apart, cleaned up every button, switch, joystick and knob, and wired it for decorative purposes only.  It does not include any electronic switching circuits.  The Grass Valley Group 1600 is 19" wide, 13" high, and 12" deep including the fader bars. All silk-screened lettering on the panel is in very good condition. As with all 30 year old Grass switchers, one of the source button lamp contacts is loose but the lamp still lights.  All buttons still have contact closures on them if you want to get creative and hook this up to something.  This switcher weighs about 30 pounds.  I'll pack it well, but expect to pay an additional $35 dollars for parcel post shipping.  If you want to ship with anyone other than the US Post Office, e-mail me and we'll work something out.

I would love to keep this gem, but the new house is kinda small...
